Birdwood Farmhouse Cheeses

Jon and Melissa Ravenhill are small family dairy farmers from Minchinhampton near Stroud. All the milk we use in our cheeses is home produced from our organic herd of Dairy Shorthorn, Jersey and Friesian cows. We have been producing our prize winning range of cheeses with loving care for the last 15 years . The welfare of our cows, who live long and natural lives is the cornerstone of our business. Traditional feeding of grass in the summer and hay in the winter produces the quality of milk reflected in the subtle tastes and superb textures for which our cheeses are renowned.

Our range consists of 4 hard cheeses - Double Gloucester and Forester, which are clothwrapped and therefore rinded traditional textured cheeses. Dunlop - a smooth buttery textured, mellow cheese based on an ancient Scottish recipe and Forest Oak which is a naturally smoked Dunlop slowly flavoured over oak chips.
